Change Elevation

I had a set of Surveyed observations as a JXL file which I imported to TBC.

I created a number of Line strings after sorting the points to various layers.

I tried to change elevation by a Delta Elevation Command by +100m to avoid negative elevation values.

The elevation of the line strings changed. Elevation of Points did not.

I created a Surface by selecting All. The resultant surface was from the points only with Negative Elevation values.

    What is wrong?

    I attach my file.

The problem here is that when you imported the points from the Controller file (JXL) they come into TBC as Grid Points (that means they are locked to the Coordinate System and will not be changed by simple edits (for example you could reprocess the data and change the Elevation of the Control (which would recompute the elevations of the points) or you could change the Target / Antenna Height which would affect the Elevations but because they are GRID Points and not the alternative GRID ONLY Points - you are limited by what you can do to change elevations.

If you need to manipulate the points  you can use the Transform Survey Points Command and that allows you to Shift all the points by a Delta Elevation of 100 and that will then give you what you need I think

You can also export Grid Points to a CSV File (P,E,N,Z,D) and then re-import them and during Import set the Flag to Import as Grid Only Points and then they come in and are not tied to the Coordinate System or the Source Survey Process and can be manipulated like any other CAD Data.

Take a read of the document that I wrote a while back on Point Types and how they are used in TBC - that may help shine more light on this for you - the link is below

    Hope this helps
