Running ver 5.2 trying to do anything in the layer manager has always been painfully slow. I was hoping my brand new 4.7Ghz 64Gb PC would help to wake it up, but it didn't. The overall laggyness plus the failure of the ability to resize columns has me continuing to avoid using it all cost. Has this issue been fixed in future a release? I can't help but to notice the Rockpile Layer manager TML... Doesn't seem like we should require a TML just to have a functioning Layer Manager though.

The RPS Layer Manager is not doing the same work. I do feel that Layer Manager is designed more to open and keep open rather than to continually Open and Close it as it takes time to load all of the layers and layer properties. Once open I feel that it works faster, it is the open / load time on a big CAD based file where there are dozens or hundreds of layers that I see the lag - is that what you are seeing also?

Thanks Alan, but it's not the time to open that is the killer it's the overall laggyness of changing any property from layer name to layer color, really everything unfortunately..

This is a very slow process when trying to make things look just right like dealing with linestyles. I have to load a property, tweak it and keep repeating this process. The accumulated lag adds up. 

Is that 64GB of RAM?
