Export fieldbook file for Civil3D

  • 1.  Export fieldbook file for Civil3D

    Posted 01-10-2021 00:26

    Hi,

Im looking to have any possibility to export points AND figures(lines rectangles circles created using feature codes in field)  to Civil3D. The thing is I dont need dxf/dwg - which means just drawing. I need to import it by fieldbook file, to let Civil3D use it as a survey data, not just a drawing which is essential for me. While surveying on trimble access in the field is much more easy for me to use Trimble coding method than coding for Civil3D to make linework processing there. For me also is very important to use 3 point rectangle method for  automatic creation of rectangles , which in Civil3D is very poor or I would say even not exist(3rd point need to be a corner also and  accuracy of this point influencing on shape of rectangle - can create  quadrangle instead of rectangle.

See small piece of Fieldbook which Civil3D exports(and also can import...), first part is about points, second part is definition of figure which is possible to draw only with point data part.

I think the best way to do this is to install Trimble Link for Civil 3D.  Then you will be able to import Trimble Data collector files directly into Civil 3D.  See below for a link to the download page for Trimble Link.
