Hey Ian,
If you can provide me with the job file for the referenced project, I can see if I can reproduce the issue. If so, I'll dig in to find what the cause may be.
Are you re-computing the project after you make the edits to the coordinates and before exporting anything? If not, this may be the cause of the issue and why once the project is closed and re-opened the export works as expected.
Go ahead and send me the file and we'll go from there.
If I'm not able to reproduce, this is when I would need some type of a video or screen shots to see what the exact steps are that you are doing so I can make sure I'm doing everything in the same manner to get to this result.
As far as the forum, unfortunately this was never set up as a support path. The community is a place where our users can collaborate, teach, learn and encourage another with new and exciting workflows in TBC. Trimble has an excellent, fully staffed, global support team that has a great method of resolving and escalating cases through. You should be first going to your Trimble Dealer with issues and they should be trying to assist with a resolution. If they are unable to find that resolution they will then put in a support case with Trimble to have our experts research the issue and find a resolution. Trimble Authorized dealers are Tier 1, Trimble Support is Tier 2 and escalation to trimble engineering is Tier 3. This allows us to have our Trimble experts focus on the issue and give the customer the best support possible. The public Forums could just have too much noise and traffic to give you the best support possible and at times can get confusing with all of the post.
Can I ask who your local dealer is?
If I can reproduce, I'll create a support ticket for you and have one of our support staff escalate to engineering to see what the cause is.
Regards,
Shane Lyons

Yes I use the custom exporter. And we tried rebuilding it so that it is now built from tbc 5.4 in case the older exporter build was the problem. It is a simple:
point,northing,easting,elevation,code
csv.
Thanks for your input, but honestly I don t feel like it is my job to figure out where the problem is coming from. Shane, I would love for you to step in here and get me some answers, since I see that you are very active on the forum and often have solutions.
Also Shane, I would like to suggest that the missing piece from this Trimble forum is a moderator. All forums I have been part of have an expert like yourself that knows the ins and outs of the subject but also the forum and can redirect people to the right places and keep things civil. Other than Quan I don t think I have ever heard back from anyone on this forum, so it makes me feel like either my questions are poor or Trimble dosn t care too much about finding solutions for people. I first brought my questions to our local rep and even though she is excellent, she directed me here for solutions that she could not solve. Since I have had little answers I feel less inclined to enjoy the product.
I guess I can try jumping to 5.5 and see if that fixes the problem because we don t use macros or any other advanced features that seem to have problems in 5.5.

Hi Ian,
I had a copied reply ready to go from Tuesday - but with the additional details you've added, I think you're on the right track.
Your observation (that re-opening TBC seems to fix the problem) indicates that there is something in the specific steps your taking that's leaving data behind during a TBC session (or specifically, a TBC bug is causing data to be left behind).
Just to verify, you're using a CSV format from the Custom tab in the Export command to create your CSVs?
And you are correct, it would probably be helpful if you could compare the duplicated points to the deleted coordinates.
I'm not super familiar with the point computation process, so will defer to others and @Shane Lyons

Have any of you had a problem exporting csv files. I have a recurring issue where I get extra points with coordinates that are not in the project getting exported. Today points 1-9 got exported even though our project started at point 35. Often I will have two point numbers 1 with different coordinates in the export. It is usually the first one to three lines of the export except today it is up to 9.
If I shut down TBC and reopen it will export correctly, but it is very disconcerting and could cause serious problems in the field or for proper returns.
One thing that we do in our processing is delete all coordinates generated by the data collector, so that only the raw observations are used to compute our projects. We typically then add the base coordinate (most common types of surveys we do) as a starting point for TBC to compute the project. Just mentioning this in case this sequence could have something to do with the problem.
I have not compared the erroneous coordinates that TBC creates, maybe they are left over from the above coordinate delete or even from previous projects????
We are on tbc 5.40.7650.15353(Don t have it open to see exact) and latest survey pro on tds3.
Thanks for any input.
