TBC 5.4 - Coordinate System Manager

I've been trying to set up TBC 5.4 with our custom geoid files and have been having issues making them selectable.

As soon as I update the vanilla 5.4 install with GPS Config 20.12.31 my geoid files are not selectable in one of the drop downs.

Are we supposed to be adding them to CoordSystemDatabase.xml now to make them visible? It did fix the issue but not something required in previous versions.

    Not visible here

But I can see my QLD Geoid Models in this area.

They are in my current.csd file.

    Hey David,

Could you send me a link to your custom Geoid file

    Hey David,

I was able to get the geoid models to show in the geoid list inside TBC by doing the following:

I pasted the geoid models you provided in C:\ProgramData\Trimble\GeoData

In the coordinate system manager I right clicked "Geoid Models" and select add.

I gave it a specific name and selected the provided ggf file in the file name drop down.

Once I selected OK, saved the current .csd file, the geoid was under the list with the name I provided.

Let me know if you are following these steps and still aren't seeing your geoid in the dropdown list.

    Shane,

    Unfortunately no.

    - Deleted current.csd and current.csdx from C:\ProgramData\Trimble\GeoData
    - Started Coordinate System Manager and created a fresh current.csd in the above folder
    - Added the two geoid models
    - Saved and closed the CSM
    - Opened TBC

I can select it but that one field doesn't complete which is just bizarre.

I'm going to try installing it on my desktop instead of in the VM to see if it makes a difference.

    Hi Shane,

I am also having problems getting our user added geoid files to show up in the drop down list.  I have tried following your instructions above and it does not seem to help.  Do you have any other suggestions?

    Hey Cathy,

Are you working from an installation on your laptop or off a Virtual Machine or network?

Can you make sure you have TBC installed on your physical machine as well. This may have been the issue with David's machine as once he said he was installing on his desktop I didn't see a response.

If the issue continues you can you put in a support case with Geospatial Support. You should be able to contact your local Trimble Dealer to assist with this as well.

Let me know if this is occurring from your local machine and we can go from there.

    Regards,

    Shane Lyons
