Is it possible to create a vertical curve using topo shots along the baseline of an existing road?
Ideally I would use these curves in the VAL tab after creating them, since I don't believe it is possible in the HAL menu.
Try using the Best Fit Linestring TML command if you are looking to find a best Fit Alignment (HAL / VAL) - that requires a 3D Linestring (chorded) as a start point so connect your points with a Linestring and then run the TML - you can put in tolerances etc. It will create you a best fit HAL and VAL based on some tolerances. This is a great question as we have this come up a bit more then usual now. We have been using Excel graphs to do manual adjustments and is very time consuming for long project where we use the existing to build a new VAL.
