I recently changed computers and have tried multiple versions of TBC (went back to 5.40 because that was on my old computer).

I have a dongle license.

Anytime I try to open or create a new project, my TBC goes non responsive and crashes. Is there something else I was supposed to install to make this work right? I have an old HCE version that does run, but it functions way slower than it used to.

Can you post details of the crash? Does it just stall and you have to close via process explorer? Is there an exception dialog displayed with any information?

It does not give me any dialog unfortunately, I have to go to the task manager and force close it. 

Here are my system specs.

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.21 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 20H2
Installed on ‎4/‎12/‎2021
OS build 19042.1165
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0

I installed 5.52 and it does the same thing, is there some sort of background add on that needs to be installed for it to run properly?

I have the same problem. Wipe out clean the computer then installed TBC 5.50. Opening or creating a new/existing project, my TBC goes non responsive and crashes. I have to go to task manager to close it.

Are you running it with a docking station?  I am having the same problem but when the docking station is unplugged it runs fine on my laptop by itself.  Seems to be a problem many are having with the new releases.  I have not found a solution yet to make it work with my docking station.

I am indeed using a docking station. As soon as I unplugged from the station, it was able to work just fine. Kind of odd but I can at least make it work now. Thank you very much!

One additional note, I did go through the device manager and disabled the integrated graphics card on my laptop. After basically crashing my computer, I was able to restart and can now run TBC with the docking station.
