I see the advantage with the icons. Yes you can muscle memory a 10 key pad but it starts to get daunting. I am personally using the app because it is $3 a month and mobile friendly when I am in the field. Sometimes it all boils down to preference.
The nice thing about the stream deck is you can customize the buttons with texts, icons, and layers commands. I find it easier than spidering around a keyboard but thats just me.

Patrick, I've never understood why anyone would pay 150 buck for a device like that. Can those do something a $15 Bluetooth 10 key and AutoHotkey /Pulover can't?

You may want to try something like this as well. https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/stream-deck
You can buy there product or download an app for a mobile device.

Enhancement request for the development team.
Instead of only showing the recent commands in the context menu please consider adding some method for a user to "pin" commands to the context menu list.
