Wow, thanks for flagging this Joel. It's a real concern to anyone with an archive of SSF or still working with TerraSync. I only relatively recently upgraded to a Geo7X cm and had been banking on TBC going forward so it's a huge shock.

Thanks Zach for the reply.
Terra Office add-in for ArcGIS Pro currently does not support SSF files. So were at a cross-roads. Any tool that runs in ArcMap (Positions, or latest add-in) is not viable anymore. In the federal government, ArcMap is being pulled. Migration to Pro is the way forward. So to read the millions of SSF files/ COR files over 2 decades of use on Windows Mobile based products (a security risk, and are also pulled from use), we have a situation that has to be resolved soon. TBC approach, though not perfect (it explodes all positions in a SSF, forcing exporting line/poly will work in 5.9x, but it would be a more viable approach to offer a web-based tool to read files (look at TBC users that can read legacy Job files) or better yet, provide a tool inside Pro to read SSF/COR files and continue to use them outside of Terra-Office frame work. If dealers just sold a Geo7x, say in the last year, what are those users up against? Obviously, they are using TerraSync, and are they going to be buy TBC to process SSF files? They got nowhere to go except save as a shapefile on the device (no PRJ, and subject to only WAAS augmentation) or are they still using ArcMap... again, days are over. WMDC???? We haven't been able to use since Microsoft pulled that in the 2000's. PFO isn't being maintained to pass any companies security policy in todays world. Terra Office using Trimble's cloud is not an option for us. Period.

Agreed Joel! This one took me off guard as well and is quite frustrating! This is going to cause a contingency of folks to stay on version 5.9 if they don't add SSF support in future TBC releases. I am definitely a fan of Terra office; however, we have many folks that don't use GIS software so they need a standalone way to process SSF files. That leaves PFO and TBC. we already have a contingency of folks that have reported windows 11 not working with Pathfinder office. The successor to windows 11 will most assuredly not Support pathfinder office. That leaves TBC as the only option for non-Esri users to differently correct TerraSync-collected data. I fully understand the deprecation of this workflow in five years or so, but now is too early! We have literally sold Geo7X units up until six months ago to folks who wanted to stick with legacy solid solution and fully understand the potential issues with WMDC and PFO moving forward. Terra Office will be a good fall back but the SSF support only works for ArcMap and not Pro.

Hello TBC,
We have noticed TBC version 2023 no longer supports the TerraSync collected format (SSF or COR) as a valid format. v. 5.9 does.
Please consider that due to the lifespan of the SSF file, spanning decades, there remains, in my opinion, a valid reason to still support ingestion of this format. TBC still supports dozens of other legacy formats, many of which were not even invented by Trimble.
A Geo7x for example, running centimeter TerraSync can rival survey quality measurements by even today's advanced systems. Please provide support for the SSF/COR format even if for a few more years. This was a very big suprise for many users in 2023. This shouldn't be a huge lift to bring the importer back.
Thanks for the opportunity for this suggestion.
