Calculating fill levels for a pond

  • 1.  Calculating fill levels for a pond

I have several storage ponds on our site and have been asked it mark 20% and 80% fill levels.

I have a topo for the pond and have created a surface.

Is there a function in TBC to generate a line at each of the fill levels to be used for setting out?

Any suggestions or work around would be great.

    Thanks

What I would do is make a flat plane across the top of your pond (top contour or some such) to determine your total volume.  I would then create separate surfaces at different contour lines and determine the volumes between the existing and the flat planes until I reached the 20 and 80 percentile of your figured quantity.   You can get simple surface to surface reports in the surface tab, under view, by pressing the Earthwork Report button.  There is nothing automatic as far as I know that would take care of your issue.

    See post number 3.

Is an old version but should do the trick.
