Aaah. I miss read this I thought this was referring to the curves in the horizontal not the cross section. I definitely agree. I have also had the need for a parabolic surface.
Vertical design would work for curb berms but I don't think it would work for what you want Nelson without a lot of manipulation. I cannot say I have tried though because that is the first time I am seeing a detail like that.
I have used Multioffset for other situations like this, pipe, and it works great. You would just have to determine you chording.

The main reason I would like to see this supported at some point is for large slopes on highway projects. They are not a small detail, like a berm, they are big enough to affect quantities on a takeoff and make automatics impossible. See attached example.

Depending on what you are doing, vertical design may be a good alternative. I use this quite a bit and leave side slope for slope tie in.
