Hello,
I am not sure if this is possible or not. I haven't explored to much. My memory tells me it is not something that TBC can do.
Is it possible to change the color of the point clouds by the source of the point cloud? For example terrestrial and UAV. It could even be broken down further, between regristration type, like scan to scan, or geo referenced terrestrial.
You ask why I would want this? Well, when doing QAQC of UAV scans compared to terrestrial SX10 or X7 type scans, the best way to evaluate is to set all the terrestrial scans to one color and all the UAV scans to another color. This can be done, but then all of the UAV scans are all the same color and all of the SX10 scans are the same color and you lose the ability to review and QAQC those scans by scan color.
I would like the ability to review scans by source and I don't think that is a large ask. The program already hold most of that information. Or at least some of it. It knows if the point cloud came from a total station or Trimble type file import, it shows SX10 scans within the occupation station they were collected and it shows those point cloud files that were imported by external file as a scanner or camera, can't tell.
I think what needs to be added when importing point cloud files is what was the source. It could just be part of the import check boxes, then under the point cloud rendering with all the other ways to look at point clouds, you would have the options to look at them by source and it would be easy to have all source types be one single color. Now you have a really powerful QAQC tool.
Thank you for considering.
