When you run the center command like that, the "active" view is the view that will "center" based on the points coordinate. If the "active" view is not a graphical view (the point spreadsheet), we just bring up the center command UI and let user pick which view to center.
Just select the tab at the top of the view to make the plan view active and then run the center cmd.
If you have multiple plan view open, you will want to make sure the view you want "centered" is the active view.

Subject: Center on Point with Points sheet open
In plan view I can center on points by right clicking a given point in the Project Explorer window and selecting center, which is great.
If I open the Points data sheet, and perform the same procedure, it opens a new window that accepts a point number and converts it to coordinates. This is not great.
Is there some way to maintain the former behavior with Points sheet open? If not, there should be.
