Create DSM/DEM (TIF/TIFF)

Hi, I'm looking for a way to get a surface in DSM .tiff (.tif) format from TBC. Has anyone solved this? So far I have managed to get this format from creating outputs in the photogramter module, but that only solves part of the surface from the raid. I would still need a projected surface created by me in this format.  Thanks for any advice.

    Hi David,

can you explain your workflow and deliverables in more detail?

Do you want to generate a raster TIFF which represents the terrain with an equal-spaced raster distance?

Do you want to create this deliverable from point clouds coming from aerial drone images, or aerial lidar, or terrestrial lidar?

Do you expect to allow a selection from specific classes (e.g. only ground points) for the creation of the DSM/DEM?

What is your definition of DEM or DSM?

Will you need it in 16bit or 32bit?

Shall all raster points be north-oriented?

Do the raster points need to start from an integer coordinate?

What about gaps in the raw data? Do you expect interpolation of the gaps? What interpolation type is accepted by the customer asking for it?

I know there are many questions, but we would need a specification and clear understanding what you are looking for.

    Hello Thomas,

I'm not sure what David's work flow is, but I'm looking for a similar answer to a similar issue; i was hoping it's okay to bounce off of his question. I have software for my drone LiDAR unit, and I'm able to produce an ortho in this software using a DEM. Id like to use the ground alone for this DEM, so i'd like my workflow to be to bring in my point cloud from my other software, use that to create a ground surface, export a DEM, then bring that into my other software to produce an ortho. Not sure about 16 or 32 bit part, or whether they need to be north oriented. I do expect interpolation in between gaps.
