You can try SCR_DTMShot which is included in my public GitHub repo https://github.com/RonnySchneider/SCR_Macros_Public
- similar to what TBC provides with "Surface Intersect", but it doesn't ask for angles, simply 2 points (i.e. snapped along a line)
- can now also extend lines, just click near the end you want to extend
- works now with projected surfaces and IFC objects
It may not be 100% what you're looking for, I found it more beneficial to break the line at surface intersections (with the option to create simple CAD points)

I second this request. It would be nice

Subject: Creating points form line intersection with a surface
Hello
There might be a way that I have overlooked to solve this problem, but after coming across it multiple times.
if there is no solution then I hope the people who can see value in this will comment so we might get a feature to solve this in a future update.
I have come across situations where I was missing a button that allows me to make points automatically from where a line intersects with a surface.
I see this being very useful in documenting work done in the field or as a tool to help plan/crate design
