I am trying to find a way to take a cross section cut of about a foot, 4-6 feet above the surface to determine widths of trees in the point cloud. Has anyone tried or found a way to do this?

Victoria, I am working on a project with the same needs. Cross sections can only be done a plane. If your ground was at a constant slope, it would be easy. Also the extract tree function is junk, it hardly picks the true center of the tree and the diameter has never been right on a single one for me.  I am just glad we manually measured some of them in the field and caught this. Budget is now blown. Scanning is not the answer for trees. TBC also classified half the trees as buildings!?!?
