You are correct.
I got locked in on the request that the date be available, with the subsequent agreement to that request seeming to validate the need for this to be added. Since the request is already available, I was trying to get people to help themselves, regrettably without verifying for myself the formats that were later requested are available. We're dealing with 2 separate issues. The OP wanted to be able to add a date in a format that is available, while the follow-on commentary was a request for an enhancement for the code features.
I would recommend that any request for an enhancement be made in a separate post because the OP was really more of a training thing and an enhancement will be lost in it.

Yes and No.
Yes you can set the date format a few different ways. But you either get mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy depending on your install language.
Image below you can see I have American english installed and I only have the option for mm/dd/yyyy.
If I am missing something, please let me know.

You can set the date format in the .fxl file if you create one. As stated previously, what everyone is asking for is easily achievable by creating a feature code library (FXL) that meets your requirements.
When you add a date attribute to a feature code, you specify the format for that date attribute.

Hey Frank. I agree it would be nice to change the date format. In my experience the data format is set when you Install TBC. If you choose American English your dates will be sorted mm/dd/yyyy. But if you install with British English your dates will be dd/mm/yyyy. Installing the British version will have other consequences like your drafting tab being names "Draughting."
Seem like an improvement for sure being able to pick your date format in your fxl.

hi,
we urgent need this date attribute dd/mm/yyyy for siteworks. Additional we need the date attribute yyyy/mm/dd, because this format can be sorted better.
