Has anybody noticed  that TSC7 when collecting Rapid Points is too slow? Is there a setting where this can be changed?

What is too slow? And did you change the settings for rapid point in survey styles or in options after you've started a survey?

It is slower to store the rapid point than TSC3.
No changes have been made to survey styles of options

Did you compare the rapid point settings in the TSC3 to what it is in the 7?  I bet your answer lies in there.

The other setting that you should check is the record interval for the RTK head. If this setting is at 5 seconds then I believe it takes 5 seconds to take a quick topo shot. But if the interval is set to 1sec then you should get a 1sec shot. I am not positive this is the case on the TSC7 but I know this was the case on the TSC3 and since you are comparing the two, it could be that this is a setting that is not the same as your old unit.
As a side note. I have noticed that if you use Survey Pro a quick topo shot is basically instantaneous and makes topo work faster and more enjoyable. But at the same time it prompts for attribute at every shot which is annoying. I dream of a day when the two are combined together with the good aspects of each and none of the bad. (I have not had the chance to try the newer versions of Access and maybe it is the cats meow).

Have you found a solution to this issue? I have a  tsc5 which I think is the same as tsc7 just with smaller screen but I've found the storing of points to be slower than tsc3 as well and messed up my cross section survey as I was walking a long way. I tried updating Trimble version, creating new survey style, and new job without template and it still does it. Topo point set to 0 instead of 2seconds seems to almost be better but it prompts and "excessive movement" every time I measure which I have to bypass it's super annoying. Any response is helpful I can't believe a newer machine performs slower and less reliable than the tsc3. Thanks for any help

    tarrell.
couple things. tsc5 and 7 are two different things. tsc7 is a windows operating system and 5 is android based. so even though the software is the same(should be anyways) the background workings might be different and maybe some connection things might be different.
i see you are mentioning topo point. personally i use rapid point for general topo work and it is pretty fast on the 5. we have sp80 or 85 rtk heads and it is not as fast as survey pro on the tsc3, but it is reasonable and should not show excessive movement message.
the original post here was for rapid point. not sure if that problem is still going on on the 7 or not. but hopefully if you switch to rapid all will be good.

Ok thank you, I didn't know about two different operating systems in the background as I'm not that tech savvy lol, but my concern is the same as the original post my rapid point had like a 3-4 second delay which I've never had on the tsc3 and it totally messed up my cross sections on a massive hwy preliminary survey so we had to redo it walking at a snails pace waiting for every point to store. My frustration is the same as the first post a newer machine should not be slower when no styles or interval templates have been changed. I would just like any ideas or software that can be adjusted so I can relay that to my company superiors so we can survey more efficiently.

    thank you

IF you have IMU on then it takes longer than an older head unit or with IMU off.
