Help Building an Alignment with Spiral Curves

    Could someone with experience building alignments with spiral curves please give me a quick run down on how to construct TH23E shown below?

    I am having a heck of a time. I can build the initial arc but as soon as I get to the second PI, I am lost.

    This is out of state work for us and I have not come across something like this before. Thanks!

    Hi Joe,

    That is a very unhelpful table but you can get through it.  One thing to watch out for is they have coordinates listed in X,Y and most of us are using N,E in TBC so just remember to put them in backwards if you're also using N,E.

    You want to go to Create Alignment on the Corridor ribbon and choose the define individual segments option.  It will look like this when you have it all input.

    First off, thank you very much Wayne.

    Just seeing the correct TBC entries is a huge help in figuring out how to interpret this table.
    I was able to match up all the numbers with where you had them entered and where they had come from in the table.

    I kept trying to start with an arc into a spiral in rather than a spiral out and I definitely was not subtracting the stationing to get the length of the tangent line segment.

    Your input has been extremely helpful in understanding how build alignments like this and I am very grateful.

    CS=Arc
    ST=Spiral Out
    TS=Line
    SC=Spiral In

    Cheers,

    Maybe someone can shed some on this alignment?
