Create COGO maybe something to look into. You can create lines/arc as points are being created at the end of each segment created. I have never used it and have wanted to, just to see how it works. This is one command I do not see anyone talk about.

ok thanks lubos.
so to be clear. the bim cad needs points in the right order to make an alignment in that software? not exactly sure what you meant by the rules this software is expecting. also seems like bim and cad are usually two different things and do not interchange well with each other. i m not familiar with bim. but can talk about cad and tbc a bit.
i use carlson cad all the time. maybe i am not the best person to help because of my inexperience with bim. and i don t fully follow what you are trying to do. but from what you have said i think my approach would be to make a surface, likely with all field points. seems like it is a survey of a road. then make a polyline with arcs like you have said. divide the line up(i think tbc has a function for this, but have not used it, but know most cad can with a densify polyline nodes command). or use the chainages along the line latter on. you could create a new line snapping to the surface to get the elevations(again not sure about tbc, but cad should do this). or i think tbc has an option to "drape" the line over the surface, and again cad should be able to do this.
if the survey is only the centerline. then you could offset the centerline and create a surface from the centerline and two offset lines with the same elevation as the centerline. in order to interpolate elevations that are not perfectly on your long alignment(due to survey not being perfectly straight).
then snapping points if they are really needed in the right order. i am having a bit of trouble understanding why the points are needed when most cad software can use surfaces or 3d faces interchangeably and polylines or alignments, but usually points are not used in similar ways in different softwares. you can export a dxf from tbc with polylines and 3d faces, or maybe xml files with similar. maybe this has something to do with bim and maybe there is an export from tbc that could help for this? anyone have any ideas?
in carlson i can create points on objects starting from left to right on the screen on all nodes. not sure about tbc. and when the object/objects turn corners then this would not work well, but might get you close or do large sections.
if you have to do this for all breaklines on a topo, then i would start to think about other approaches to the problem.
bit of a ramble, but maybe there is something in here that would help a bit.

the goal is to create points along the line in exact chainage and make new line from them.... on straight parts every 10m and curved parts 5m ....or.... for another layer 20m on straight and 10m on curved...it is for creating BIM CAD file that has thete rules
the original points are from field but guys are not able/willing to measure the points on the exact chainage, I undertand.....but than I need to interpolate all the lines by these rules in TBC...so I decided to create completely new set of points
My way to do that is that
0-make an aligment, make a long aligment labels
1-make a curved segments of the line
2-cut the line by crossing with the labels
3-create points from CAD by ends of the segments
4- select similar points
5-make a new line from the new points...but the name order is not usually created suitable way to easy line-creation by "select similar+make line from points"
after my investigation I have found these another ways to do that
1.....use ANZ tools
2...use macro from Ronny Schneider ...good..useful.....free....but it can select only one line in one step, so you need to cut/prepare the line e.g if it is around the road or it is more complicated
3...some TML form Rockpilesolutions....I havent investigated yet...suppose part of an expencive pack
4...use Create Sideslope Command ...I havent investigated yet....I cant find it...dont know if it is cause my licence...my inability....my TBc in difrent laquage...atc
5....use this macro .....I havent investigated yet
6...use Sta/Offset Points macro.... metioned by Francisco Guerrero in this topic ....I havent investigated yet
7..... use "Station Offset Elevation Report" ......as Wayne Welshans mentioned above...thank you Wayne......I dont like the excel-steps-aside....It looks a bit complicated than my mentioned way after my comparition
Any helpful coments is needed :)... ...

i am curious about the end goal of doing this, and maybe there is a better work around. is it needed for field layout or is it needed for drafting/design? are the points really needed or could the lines suffice?
it seems like some surface or offsets/chainages could be used in the field, and maybe a table function in drafting to help.
i also always wish that some excel editing options were possible in the tbc points spreadsheet. i think people would use this all the time if it existed. i don t think full excel is needed (but would be incredible) but simple tasks like group renumbering. or adding/subtracting could do a lot for data management.

Lubos, I feel your pain this is something I have to work through a fair bit myself. My most common work around is a little cumbersome but it does work. What I do is create all the points I need knowing the numbers will be all messed up, then I create a station, offset, elevation report on all the points (you'll have to make up an alignment if there isn't already one in your project that will work) and choose to have the report loaded in excel and also output the northings and eastings. Once I have it in excel I then use the sorting options within excel on the station and offset columns to get the points ordered the way I want them. Once I have them in the order I want I can then delete everything but the northing, easting, elevation, and description columns and add in a column for point numbers, then put in whatever point number I want to start with and drag in down to the bottom of the list. I can then save it as a .csv and import that file back into TBC as a points file. It starts to get more complicated if the points you are trying to renumber aren't located on perfectly even stations/offsets along the alignment but you can usually brute force your way through it by using excel equations to round off the station/offset values
Good luck!

Hi
I have an outline line from a survey layer and I need to interpolate additional points at 10 and 5 meter stations. I cut the line into a few parts. I have created axes lines along which I cut the lines, so I have it cut into many lines. If I select all the created lines and use the "Create from CAD from end points" function, there is a strange cut of the point numbers. I need to be able to simply connect the created points with a line, but they are numbered in such a way that it cannot be simply connected.
Any advice, how to reach it simply way?
