Layer Groups - Feature Request

  • 1.  Layer Groups - Feature Request

    1. When I open my TBC project, all of my layer groups are shown open in the view filter. I have to click the "-" very often to close the groups. I woult like a button that closes all groups at once.
    2. It would be nice if you could not only specify the layer prefix when importing DWG or DXF, but also automatically move these layers into a layer group (perhaps with the same name as the DWG file).

    One trick with the layer groups is to hold shift and click on the +/-. This will collapse all and expand all. A button would be useful though. I would also like to see this for the project explorer. I think this would help with navigating through the tree view. 

     

     

     

     

    Totally agree on the 2nd bullet. I was actually going to request something similar.

    Has there been any consideration for implementing a feature that allows users to collapse or expand all layer groups with a single button click, similar to the shift click functionality?

    And regarding the suggestion to automatically move imported DWG or DXF layers into corresponding layer groups, is there a plan to explore this enhancement in future updates?

    It would be great to see an enhancement in the form of Layer Groups for better organization and management of layers in the application. Currently, managing multiple layers can become cumbersome, especially in complex projects. By allowing users to group related layers, it would significantly improve workflow efficiency and help maintain a clean, organized workspace. Layer Groups would provide the flexibility to collapse, expand, or lock entire sets of layers, making the interface much more intuitive and user-friendly.

    The whole layer manager could use improvement IMHO. The one in Terramodel was way easier to use and had much better functionality.
