Macro for Moving Linestring VPIs to Horizontal Segments

Did someone out there have a macro that will take VPIs and convert them to horizontal segments? Similar if you were to export as a dxf then import it back in.

I would actually love this feature reversed. I would love to be able to take all the horizontal tab elevations and transfer them over to the vertical tab as VPI's. We do all of our elevating on the Vertical tab for the most part.

Yeah honestly we'd use both. For all our EP word I'd love to get them all transferred from horizontal to vertical.

But our real pain point is that it's faster to elevate in the vertical but when we elevate pipe then go to realign it and move the end around it screws up the end of the pipe line because it maintains distance along line. Obviously the spot elevation at the start is fine because that's always 0 along the line.  But the other end won't stay with the end of the line if it gets shortened.

For pipe specifically we just make sure all the linework is located correctly before elevating anything at all so we don't end up with that issue. Also we break the pipe networks at the center of each structure so the linework is segmented for each run of pipe.

Yeah so we have a certain process when we do our advanced utility models incorporating shop drawings. We first elevate all the pipe using the plans and then double check using annotations in TBC. Then we bring the shop drawings in to scale and drop them in the model. Then we line up the pipe to the actual structure linework and then we double check the shop drawings to the already elevated linework again using annotation and the PDFs. That's how we catch shop drawing discrepancies. It's quite the process but the elevated lines are always used for the double check so on projects where we incorporate shop drawings we end up moving around the lines after they're elevated.

    Its native TBC function.
    Module required: ANZToolbox
    Command: Convert to Horizontal
