Method to copy import/export 3D linestrings between projects

Does anyone have a method of copying 3D linestrings between projects? I'm talking about real 3D linestring/featurelines, not a 3D poly chorded approximation using .DWG.  Still crazy to me TBC is always adding new obscure features while lacking the most basic necessary commands and expects user to pay 3rd party subscription fees to get them. I mean how is TBC not even capable of exporting and/or importing objects in it's own format?!?!?

i agree. i don t know how to do this. and i fully agree that the basic functions in tbc are lacking. there is so much power in simple tasks that autocad can do. i feel like when comments like this come up they are ignored, developers thinking that just because someone is trained in other software they are not willing to learn in tbc. i have been using tbc more these days because the 3d view is powerful with point clouds. and trying to use it efficiently. sure i don t know all the tricks. but the basics could be there.

having multiple projects open in one tbc session and being able to copy anything from one to another is extremely powerful. this is basic autocad function. not to mention copying styles from one drawing to another. how about basic control C. i was trying to copy a survey point the other day in tbc. i could not figure out a way to do this. control C should be possible. it was an offset point with attributes for a powerpole. instead i had to make a new point and transfer the attributes loosing the photos.

xref one project to another is also extremely powerful for data retention and project management.

how about real basics of a command pain for all commands that also allows inputs(sure have the pop ups for people that are learning the software, this is ironic because the command pain likely already exists in the coding). there is so much clicking in tbc it is a waste of time. even the command pain takes a click to auto populate the half entered command. this should be automated.

i don t want to get too far off your topic. but the point i am trying to make is that it feels like a lot of things in tbc are locked that could/should be possible.

even just using the escape button to exit your selection of screen entities is another basic function that is not there. and only works sometimes when your are in commands.

It's a .VCL file. Select what you need to copy to another project >Export>"Construction" tab> .vcl (at the bottom of the list) > drag and drop into whatever project you need it to be in. If I'm not mistaken, this is all the macro does.

Another way would be to output in the JOBSITE command.  you can then add external designs to another project.  This is great if you did not set up the field designs in another project file and want to add them.  Its a little time saver and storage  from exporting a VCL.
