    Anyone know what the "Network adjustment could not be successfully completed. Numerical Problems" error is telling me?

    Did you look through the flag pane?  Did it get far enough to allow you to view the adjustment report?

    This is a core error in the network adjustment module which could be related to the calculation of the correction in the adjustment process, or you might have stations which their coordinates cannot be computed and as a result, the matrix of normal equation coefficients becomes singular and TBC suppresses any attempt to solve the normal equations.

     

    What type of observation do you have in the adjustment? Did the error occur in the constrained or the free adjustment? If you are doing a constrained adjustment check your fixed coordinate and make sure they agree with the observed data and the coordinate system definition.

    My tech shared his screen with me and this project had all sorts of data in it from old projects and this new project (imported grid points, RTK, optical, static GPS...). I told him to start stripping out any data he didn't need from the old projects. He ran the adjustment and it worked.

    Yes you can't have sloppy data and have the network adjustment work.   TBC can handle a lot of data in an adjustment, though if you have a bad height on an observation or two it can skew the results. And for instance you cannot have RTN/VRS data in an adjustment if you are also using base and rover RTK.

    After all, it has already been mentioned that this is a fundamental error in the network adjustment module, it may have to do with possibly calculating a correction in the adjustment process or you have a station that does not allow you to calculate their coordinates, this causes the matrix of the normal equation coefficients to become peculiar and the TBC skips any attempt to solve the normal equations.
