Hi TBC world!
New to TBC here and self-learning with version 5.10...no I can't get it updated :( apologies if I am asking something that has been ironed out in later releases or has been covered in another thread, but no amount of searching is coming up with any answers I'm looking for.
So, I am surveying linestring features and trying to label the points on the string with their elevation. I've created a point label with a symbol, I've assigned the elevation to one step below and checked the align to string segment. So in my head, whatever direction the feature is surveyed in, the labels at points should come below the string. If the string reads right to left as you look at the screen, these labels should then appear upside-down above the string as you view it, as opposed to below the string if the direction is left to right...Make sense? So why does everything orientate to the view?
Think of it in terms of surveying parallel strings. I survey one string in one direction and the other in the opposite. With the same label applied they should not appear on top of each other...but they do. Rotating the labels is too time consuming when I have a lot of linestrings. There must be a setting somewhere I can't see that doesn't orientate the label above or below based on view perspective.
Screen shot for clarity. All string labels are set to 1 below, but none appear above the line as viewed from the screen perspective even though string directions are right to left in some cases.
Help...please!
