I'm currently messing around with reference files and was wondering if anyone else has the same issue.

I have a project with 71 PDFs geo-referenced under different view filters, I have another 70+ to import, I do not want 140 files shown under Project Explorer>Imported in the main project. I then reference this PDF project into my main one and turn off "Selectable" under Advanced View Filter Settings>Reference files, because I do not want to be able to select the PDF just a 2D line, Annoying to always have 2 options to select, PDF and Linestring. When I select the line to view the properties it always brings up the properties for a pdf, not the line string. SS below of the linestring selected but properties of the PDFs

It however will bring up the properties if the Advanced View Filter setting is turned on to select the PDF

If it's doing what I'm understanding it's doing, that's pretty crazy. What version are you running? We're up to 5.9 and have 4 full time guys' working on files where we georference every plan sheet. We've rotated through every version and patch and have never run into this.

Not the answer, but maybe a workable solution. Have you tried turning off 'Vector PDF Page' in Snap Options?

Nope, still does it. I also am running into another bug i can't even choose a line sometimes without turning off the reference file.

was this conflict fixed in the newest version of TBC 2023.xx?
