Just a suggestion, as I don't know how difficult this would be to introduce.
I really like the earthwork summary report. It's quick and easy to get either detailed or general information out to my engineers and estimators. I like recieving the file in excel, as I can rename items so that they can easily understand exactly what I'm talking about.
My suggestions are as follows:
- Put as much of the math into the excel sheet as possible - as in formulas. There are times where my expansion rates and the rates my engineer would use are different. It's not difficult to go in and put the formulas in ourselves, but it's just one less thing we would have to do when we change the Comp/Ratio column from 1.75 to 2.0. Once we make that change, we have to change the sub totals and totals and then adjust the distribution totals. There's a lot there and if it was more interconnected, it would be a much more useful tool.
- This one is more far fetched pie in the sky hope. It would be nice to automatically print out a map with the site regions colored and labeled. I know that's most likely much more complicated than my previous request, but it would be fantastic for explaining where each site region is. This request is most likely due to my complete lack of understanding on how to plot using the program. I have had a hard time finding any tutorials on plan production for TBC, so if anyone can help me out there, I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you,
