Surface adjustment

I have a surface generated from a Point Cloud (or even otherwise).

I have a set of non linear points within the above surface with 3D values (Easting, Northing, Elevation).

Is there some way in TBC to adjust the available Surface to conform to the set of points? A 3D Planar Rotation / Translation Adjustment may be, even if approximate?

    Any suggestions outside TBC?

    Thanks.

    Hi Saif

You can use the "Surface Members" command in the Surfaces > Create tab. This will allow you to add or remove "members" to you surface, it can be points or CAD lines. You just select the surface and then the members you want to added and remove, TBC will update the surface then.

I do not think I have explained myself correctly.

I want the entire surface to be modified to match the "control points" even if approximately with a translations / rotations in 3D, so that the surface matches with the "control points" (approximately, a least square solution may be).

    Hi Saif

You can use the "Geo-Reference Scans" command under the Point Clouds > Registration tab. There you can use "Point ID" and "Scan Point" to generate point pairs to calc a transformation.

    1) Export your surface to DWG format
    2) Drag and drop that DWG to TBC, now you have a layer with all tringles as 3D Faces
    3) Drape your points onto surface. Lets call your original points 001, 002, 003...999
    4) Manually create new points on the draped points. Lets call your draped points 1001, 1002, 1003... 1999
    5) Go to Survey -> Transform Survey Points, select 7 parameters transformation
    6) Add you pairs of points 1001 -> 001, 1002-> 002  etc.
    7) Objects to transform will be the 3D faces you imported
    8) Transform 3D Faces
    9) Triangulate your 3D faces
    10) Profit
