Surface or Cut/Fill map export

  • 1.  Surface or Cut/Fill map export

Hi, does anyone know how to export a cut fill/ surface so that it can be viewed in Autocad?

I need to plot it with the plot template I have in Autocad.

is frustrating that in other software such as LSS, you can export as a DWG and you see the coloured surface in autocad.

when I try this in TBC I don't see this.

I just want to see this in 2D so that I can plot a pdf using my Cad template.

    any ideas?

    Hi Richard,

It is relatively straightforward to import your CAD title block into TBC and then drop the Cut/Fill Map and Legend onto it, and then print to PDF. This is personally the route I would go.

It is possible to create a georeferenced image from TBC of the Cut/Fill Map, which can then be inserted into CAD as another option.

    Best Regards, Richard.

personally, I think that exporting the cut fill map / faces is an important item to have as the creator of the map isn't always the end user.

Importing a title block to TBC is great for easy outputs. I would suggest that data output from a system can be just as critical as data into a system.

Richard - in regard to export of a georeferenced stored measurement. Do you know that process?
ortho image exporter with no luck, Any assistance would be helpful.

Thanks to Charlie at Trimble confirming this is an option.

    "Capture Image"

This will export a JPG of the file with *.jgw and *kml data. That can then be imported into multiple cad packages.
If using Autocad, you might need a lisp routine for the jgw, if using AutoCAD LT, you might have to coordinate points from the image and georeference that way (or export with a grid).

    Hopefully the attached helps.

    Regards,
    Julius

    Hi Julius,

You can use Create Plot Box first if you want more control over the captured area.

    Best Regards, Richard.
