TBC 2025.20 - Black Band in 3D View + Missing Axis Indicator (Verified Fix)

✅ Symptoms

• A solid black band appears at the bottom of the 3D View

• It overlays the surface and does not rotate or resize

• Background color changes do nothing

• The 3D axis indicator (XYZ triad) is missing

• Issue persists across projects and even after reinstalling TBC

• Importing your old user profile brings the issue back

✅ Root Cause

A graphics override stored in the user profile:

File → Options → General → Display → Advanced → Graphics Display Driver →

When this box is checked, TBC forces a fixed internal rendering resolution that can:

• Clip the bottom of the 3D View

• Hide UI overlays (axis indicator, grid, etc.)

• Break background rendering

• Cause persistent black regions in the viewport

This setting is saved to your user profile, so reinstalling TBC does not clear it.

1. Go to: File → Options → General → Display → Advanced
