Any idea how to fix this error?  Just been getting after updating to 2024.12, stepped back to 2024.10 and also ran Cleanup Utility before step back and still getting error.  Other users in our office can open the file and our on 2024.10.  File has been audited, purged and saved as a DXF, ACAD, renamed, etc. and still won't load.  Also, older CADs that came in fine throw the same error.  Past DWGs exported from TBC will load fine.   I'm stumped.

    Hi Brian,

Did you get any help with this? I've got the same issue.

    Regards,

    Julius

Slight work around on this was to save the dwg file as dxf file and the file imported. TBC version 2024.13

Just a little updated to this.  I was able to step back to Civl 3D 2024 and TBC 2024.10 and everything has been working as before.  Trimble says issue boils down to quotation marks inserted in a registry string for an AutoCAD path, and they hope to have a fix in an upcoming patch/release.

I can add to this further (and it probably affected my "join lines error" post somehow also.

    I've uninstalled AutocadLT 2026.
Run the utility cleanup and gone back and
I've installed TBC 2024.10 and imported that original CAD file with no problems.
I've then installed TBC 2024.13 and imported that file, and that's come through fine, so clearly something in autocadlt 2026 has an impact on TBC somehow.
So  the use of AutocadLT 2026 is the impact point at the moment. That is possibly having an impact on how fonts are being interpreted, due to an illegal character note in the TBC error message.
I put the error message through ChatGPT and it referenced the "illegal characters in the path" as a key element. I then ran a sequence of steps that works with a LISP routine to sort the font type illegal character issues. That fixes the issue with the font type in Autocad. However - that's not applicable to Autocad LT.  Hence the uninstall of Autocad LT 2026.
