@Zach Edwards I concur with your request. I can say that many folks who are working with aerial, mobile and terrestrial point clouds have asked for this for vegetation and obstruction clearance validations.

Subject: TBC Point Cloud Horizontal Clearance Functionality
Hello,
It would be nice if TBC had a tool identical to the Measure Overhead Line Clearance but for horizontal clearances. We have a customer that is focused on storm/stream draining erosion and deposition. It'd be nice to isolate the point cloud for a drainage basic or riverbed and get horizontal clearance lines (lengths) along the river or drainage structure to show change over time. I know that a scan-to-scan inspection is an option but it'd be nice to have the same functionality of the overhead line clearance but for left/right (horizontal)! Anyone doing drainage analysis, tunnel analysis, streambed analysis, etc. would greatly benefit from this piece of functionality. Thanks and let me know if there is a workaround in TBC by way of using alignments or something else.
