    I am having an issue,

I was working on a TBC file in V5.70 at my office. Was to continue working  on that file following day. But, I contracted COVID and forced to work from home. I have the Laptop and USB dongle at home. I have 5.60 still on my laptop. (I usually keep two versions like this until the new version stabilizes, as a fall back measure).

I can access my Desktop through VPN.

    I could open the file.

Since the USB Dongle is physically on the Laptop at home I was not able to continue working on the file in that device.

I copy / pasted the file to my Laptop and tried opening the file. I got an error message which is attached.

I copy / pasted the file and the associated folder. Same message.

I tried to create a *.vcl file and import it to a new default file. Same result.

Need some urgent help. How can I overcome. I could not understand about the .config file.

    Thanks.

seems as that .VCE file has a command that the other version does not and will possibly be opened by dragging and dropping the .VCE in a new project using the "Ctrl + Shift , drag drop" method.

TBC projects are not backwards compatible. If you have saved a project in 5.70, you will not be able to open it again in TBC 5.60. The "unregistered snap-in component type" error message is what you usually see if you try to open a newer project in an older version of the software. I would recommend upgrading your laptop to 5.70, so it is compatible with your office computer.
Although there have been a few complaints on the community about 5.70, we have not seen a lot of issues come into support regarding TBC 5.70.

As Francisco mentions, if you have a project saved in a more recent version of TBC and you desperately need to open it in an older version of TBC - you can do so by drag-dropping it into the old TBC while holding CTRL+SHIFT - this causes TBC to skip the version check. The caveat is that if the project depends on a new feature introduced in the recent version of TBC (rare but possible), you could lose whatever isn't supported in the older version (you will keep only what the old version supported). Making a backup copy of the project file beforehand could give you more options to recover if this causes you to lose anything important.

I've used the CTRL+SHIFT drag-drop method to downgrade project files to older TBC versions many times and have never had any issues yet. Our entire team had upgraded to and were using the new 5.70 TBC for a couple weeks and had saved many projects before deciding 5.70 had too many bugs and downgrading back to 5.60.2 at the advice of our dealer - now we have to use the CTRL+SHIFT drag-drop method to open any of those projects last saved from the 5.70 TBC.
