    Hello together

This is my first post in the community.
    I have the following problem:

After updating from TBC 5.81 to 5.90, I can no longer log in with my Trimble ID.
My default brower (Chrome version 116.0.5845.180) opens a tab with the error : "This page does not work
127.0.0.1 has not sent any data.
    ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE".
When I select another browser as default the same thing happens.
Deleting all cockies also does nothing.

I reinstalled TBC 5.90 with the same result.

The WorkAround from the Tread: "Trimble Identity Login with TBC not is working" from 09-14-2020 I have executed. But it did not help either.

What makes me wonder is that I have about the same problem with Trimble Connect for Windows. There I could solve it until now by changing the default browser. But this does not work anymore. My other colleagues in the office do not have this problem.

Is this problem due to an in-house IT problem or on the part of TBC to TC for Win?

    Thanks for any Help

    Hi Thomas,

It would be odd if this is a Network/IT issue with your company that only affects you. I am not familiar with an issue like this and a subscription (have seen some cases with Perpetual licenses and that error). I took a look at your TID and subscription in our backend and the License Manager and that looks fine. We have had a couple of Resellers with issues with the Demo subscription, so I would recommend you reach out to the Support team to get them to assist.

We had the same issue randomly with some of our TSC7 controllers about a year ago. If I recall correctly, it usually fixed itself in a day or so.

Here is the last conversation I had with Trimble. It looks like you tried most of these troubleshooting steps, but maybe there is something additional here that could help. I'll admit that most of this is over my head.

The login process in TA uses a localhost call back on a specific socket (as required by a non-browser application).  The login callback for connect.trimble.com and my.trimble.com (in the browser) will use a different mechanism - this is why the user doesn't see the issue when logging into these.  It is not related to the user logging in either btw.
As Jakob said, this error response in the browser of ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED indicates that most likely the issue is in the browser and not in TA.  Does the company use TSM?   TSM desktop app login should use the same mechanism as TA (i.e. socket callback).  If they see the same issue when trying to sign in to TSM then we know it's a browser issue and there is nothing we can do.

We should confirm that they are using Chrome before any of the following..
What version of Chrome are they using? chrome://settings/help will get them there.  Would advise updating to latest if not already.  Would also recommend going to chrome://net-internals/ and on the left clicking "Sockets" then "Flush socket pools" and restarting chrome.  It would also pay to clear cookies and site data, in Chrome: Ctrl+H then select "Time range" as "All time", then select "Cookies and other site data".

    Hello together

After various internal clarifications, the error could be fixed by deleting and recreating the Windows user profile.
So the problem is not caused by TBC or Trimble Connect for Windows.

    Thanks anyway for the help

    Greetings
    Thomas
