I have two surfaces imported from xml files.

I have imported a dwg file consisting of polylines and some text.

Intention is to create Plot Boundaries from Plot A to Plot J and find surface comparison quantities all those plot boundaries.

    I am unable to:

    1. Pick any polyline and name it

    2. Create a new polyline on top of the existing polyline/s.

What may be causing this issue?

I tried to "Explode" all objects on the layer without success!!

    Could some one help.

    Thanks.

Your description reminds me of what happens when I forget I've turned off snaps that are usually active, especially the "Free" snap. Not sure if this is what is going on in your case, but worth checking. There should be a place in the bottom status bar, on my computer it is to the right of center, that says "Snap". Clicking on that brings up a little window for configuring snaps.

I was able to do it. Is it just panning or zooming in when you left click and try to click on it?

See if one of the left mouse pan/zoom is clicked.

In advanced View Filter settings you may also have turned off Selectable on Layers or on the CAD data section - if tjose are off then the data will not be selectable.

I opened the file and the data was selectable for me.

Eric is correct in saying that if somehow you set Left Mouse to be Pan or zoom etc then that is sticky till you return it to Left Mouse Select - to clear it select Rectangle Select at the base of the screen in the toggle buttons. You can activate these butons by mistake if you hit e.g. F7 or F8 which are the shortcut keys defined for those commands like Left Mouse Pan, Left Mouse Rotate, Left Mouse Zoom which are really only there for people working on a laptop without a Mouse.

    Thanks every one.

Rectangular snap was the issue. Now sorted.

    Thanks.

I had the same problem and Rectangle Select fixed it.  I'm now able select objects again.
