Do not use the latest Perspective upgrade (3.0.1), ! There are problems with the precision point function! Stay with 2.1.5.1515!

I've just noticed this last week while out doing a survey with an X7 we just purchased. When taking a precision point and using the laser to accurately record the point the scanner doesn't actually move to the point and records where it was pointed originally.

I brought this up with my dealer but not sure if they looked into it.

There is an error when measuring the precision point. Try this: do a scan and then aim at any point with the laser dot. Go to the laser dot and use the small arrows to refine your aim. The laser point moves on the object, but the image on the tablet does not move. (In 80 percent of cases) In my opinion, you are using the wrong horizontal and vertical angles when calculating the precision point. The distance seems good.
    There are two options:
    1. You reinstall the previous version. Before that, save the existing projects in *.tdx.
    2. You use this version 3.0.1, but you make the exact aim by tapping on the screen (very carefully). You don't use the arrows.

The developers of Trimble perspective software have found the bug, it will be fixed in version 3.1 or 3.2
