Trimble Business Center

I'm currently using Trimble Business Center (TBC) Survey Intermediate Edition and am trying to confirm the best-practice workflow for exporting machine control files for use in Trimble GCS900 or Earthworks and to confirm I don't need the Construction module to be effective.

🔍 My situation:

• I receive calibrated XML surfaces and DXFs from our survey team

• I'm not responsible for field calibration (no GNSS-to-ground transformation work on my end)

• I am exporting TTM, XML, and DXF files for our GPS-enabled dozers

• Our projects may be in UTM (grid) or ground coordinates, depending on the site

• The survey team sometimes provides a .cal file, but not always

Any clarification from Trimble staff or experienced users would be greatly appreciated. I want to ensure I'm working within the correct workflow for this license tier and avoid unnecessary upgrades if possible.

Hello - on the Trimble site - there is a link to the "Workflow matrices" - this will show you what modules allow you what commands.  It gives a good understanding of what you can do with the subscription you have.  Also - if you reach out to your local distributor - they should be able to help guide you on exporting data from TBC to the field.  If you do not know who that is, please reach out and let us know your location for assistance.  Thank you
