In my experience - if the triangles are not being drawn it is because the "edge length" distance is not long enough to match the actual distance between those contours. I'm assuming the site is pretty flat and these contours have a good amount of distance between them.
Get into the properties of the surface and change the edge length distance to something greater until it draws the triangles
