Dear Trimble Business Center Support Team,

I am working as a surveyor and currently reviewing baseline processing results in Trimble Business Center.

For technical verification and reporting purposes, I would like clarification on the statistical computation used in baseline processing.

Specifically, I would appreciate guidance on the following:

  1. How is the A Priori Covariance Matrix (m²) determined during baseline processing?

  2. What stochastic model or observation weighting strategy is applied?

  3. How are the reported standard deviations (sdx, sdy, sdz or sdn, sde, sdu) derived from the covariance matrix?

  4. Is the covariance scaled by an a priori variance factor (σ₀²), and if so, what assumptions are used?

I am preparing documentation for project quality control and would like to ensure that I fully understand how these values are generated within TBC.

If there is any technical note, white paper, or reference material explaining the methodology, kindly share it.

Thank you for your support.
