 Exporting Points as symbol blocks

I am trying to make it so that points I have imported from field data is converted to block references when I export out of TBC to CAD. So far I have been able to create symbols in the feature definition manager for different layers and when selected in TBC it shows the symbol and the point as a single entity. however when I export to a DWG for drafting in CAD. It comes into CAD with the block reference but the point is still inside the block as a separate entity.

Would appreciate any help in making it so I can import my points from the field into TBC, process feature codes to convert the different points of different layers to the required symbol then export to a DWG such that when I open the project in my CAD template there are no points only block references in their place.

NOTE
I am aware there is a setting to Export point as point block, However this also ties other information like elevation and point name to the point and I do not want these.

when you do your export from tbc check what layers you have on. i am not in front of the computer at the moment. but i recall that you would turn off all vectors/gun ties but keep points on from the raw data. but then down lower in the layering turn off layer 0 and also the points layer there. then the point nodes should be off and should not export when you select all the other entities. i am pretty sure this works. good luck.
