 Exporting points to KML

TBC version 5.90 (5.90.8549.18987)

I was requested to provide a KML of some stakeout points to one of our field crews. The export process from TBC went without issue, but the resulting KML contained no points objects. The file contains a point folder, but no actual points. This seems to be a bug.

Things I've tried:

  • Export points as KML: Creates point folder, but no points
  • Export points as KMZ: Creates point folder, but no points
  • Export points as DXF, re-import as CAD points, Export to KML: Doesn't even create a point folder
  • Create circles at each point and export as KML: Works, of course, but adding text to each point is too cumbersome to be practical

(I hope it goes without saying that yes, I made sure to select the points I want to export.)

What other workarounds should I try? Also, can we add this to the bugfix list?

Be sure to select and highlight

all the elements you want to include in the KML file including points.

If they arere calculated points with null elevations, you have to add an ortho height (elevation).

Under CAD, in the Edit section there is 'Change Elevation'. You can assign an elevation to all the points in a selection. Don't forget to undo it.
