How do I update staked points

I am new at this so am sure it is something I missed in training, but then again, training doesn't cover everything.

I have done a survey with a SX12 and did lots of checks because I suspected I would screw something up, and I did.

The first few setups, I measured the HI to the center of the telescope axis even though the controller expected me to measure to the bottom notch.  Sure enough, my first BS gave me a big vertical error.

See point 4302

I found where to fix this in TBC and after re-computing the project, almost everything works.  The exception is point 4302 which I may have shot in stakeout mode.  The elevation of 4326 and 5214 match very well, but 4302 is out by 13 cm.

i am pretty sure you are right. the as staked points are not updating. tbc uses the coordinate measured in the field to flag how far it is out compared to the design point staked in the field. office changes with network adjustments or other shifts will not move that coordinate. i guess the idea is that the field crew should be setup on correct control when staking out. but the reality is that is not always the case. we are often working off an autonomous base point in our environment and then shift it to known in the office, as a good example because these are typically about a 2m shift. and we can work staking out lot lines or other work in that wrong system for the day and then fix it in the office.

anyways the good news is that it is easy to fix. in project explorer, under your regular point list there should be an as staked point list. highlight them all, right click and choose convert as staked points. this will move the asstaked points up into the regular point list and populate the asstaked list with the original point numbers with -1 suffix. in our work flow we typically then delete those -1 because they are wrong coordinates.

hope this helps.

Thanks @ian bissonnette.  This helps, but when i converted the point I lost the observation.

is there a way to convert it to a regular observation?

OOPS - I answered too soon.  After recomputing the project, the point came back and all is well!

after you convert it, it will likely disappear on the plan view, but if you press the red circle in the upper middle ribbon, or lower right ribbon, to recompute the project then it should reappear in the plan view.

tbc needs this recompute button pressed often, but not always, depending on what function you have performed.
