How to close an "open" closed traverse in TBC?

Hi, I'm new to TBC (and Trimbles in general)

Does anyone know how to close an "open" Traverse in TBC? My end point or common point was recorded on my first and last set-up and is not counted as Station in TBC, so I can't use in my traverse list.

Diagram below, red indicates Stations that have a back and foresight, the blue is just shot as a station but not set up on.

Is there any way to close my traverse without returning to site? I never had any issues with traverse closure via this method in N4CE.

i always use the adjust network routine so i am less familiar with the traverse one. if you use the network adjust then you just change the name of the common point to the same point number and merge the points. then you should be able to adjust it.

but on a side note, a full closure by occupying all points will always be a better solution. many times i have closed with the first shot to a couple mm and the second closure shot is out more, probably from angular errors.

you will likely have to create “control” quality office points out of two points on your traverse for tbc to know how to start the network adjustment. or if you have rtk on it, then tbc should use the rtk shots if they are also merged as the same point numbers.

also note that azimuth records get held in tbc. unless you want them held, we almost always disable or delete them. these are made when you backsight an azimuth.

hope this helps a bit.

Your graphic and explanation are a little hard to understand.

Do you need to have a closed "traverse" for a requirement?  I have run 2 or 3 traverses with TBC, but that was before I learned what Network Adjustment does and how to utilize it. Like Ian mentioned, you will have to make a point or 2 or 3 "control quality" through right clicking over the point and choose "add coordinate" changing the quality to "control".  TBC is powerful for adjustments, though not very user friendly.  There are lots of TBC videos in the help section on Trimble web pages.
