 Import Labelstyle Issue

Having an issue importing .labelstyles. I can export .lablestyles out of a TBC file, but when trying to import into the same (or another file), TBC says that a suitable importer could not be found. Is anyone else having this issue?

It sounds as if you're dragging and dropping the file instead of using "Import" in the "Label style manager".

The issue I'm having with this approach is that it'll transfer a lot of data that may not be wanted in the new project. All text styles, creating new layers. It seems to ignore the linestyles which are included in that file.

If you're just after specific labels, the following approach might be better:

  • select a label
  • export it as VCL (that will add the attached point; that's the nature of a VCL)
  • drop the VCL into the other project
  • select/delete the VCL members and the VCL from the new project (we don't need the source point/label, just the style)
  • the labelstyle/textstyle will persist
