hello
i try to export from access a job with all field raw data ( angles and distances) with also mean angle calculated in access, from severals shoot in  a same point to have more précision...
the xml or job export won't write the calculated mean angle ! needed for transverse Processing...
any ideas of other existing formats ?
is there a place to download different export formats for TBC ?
thank you

Hey Pascal,

Can you provide the JXL and Job file exported from Access?

i am not positive about the specific mean angle you are asking about, but i might have some other suggestions.

-you can use TBC to do your traverse processing, if you are setup for it with license
-you can view the mean angles in TBC with the optical spreadsheet(they will be whited out, but if you select everything, might have to do it way on the edge of the fields, then you can ctrl+c and paste them into a normal spreadsheet)
-there are likely TBC stylesheet exports that can give you what you are after, but i don't use them so i don't know enough about their limitations
-from the data collector you should be able to export a .raw file that might be what you are after and convert that and load it into what ever other software you are going to process the data with

Hey Pascal,

As Ian has mentioned, you could keep the traverse in TBC as well. I'm not sure what the workflow is that you are doing, so not sure if this is something you want to do or not.

If you are looking for all the mean angles in the project you can go into the reports icon in the quick access toolbar (looks like a sheet of paper), select more reports and generate the mean angle report. This will open up a separate URL with all the mean angles in the project and you can save as a PDF, etc.

As of now TBC doesn't have an option in the custom reports to export mean angle and the optical spreadsheet only shows the individual Face 1 and Face 2 observations (or at least I'm not seeing an option to view this in the project settings and only see the Total Station ID's in the project I was looking at).

I do see the value in having this as an option in the custom exports and will push to have this enhancement added in the future. I believe this is also something that has come into our Support queue before so might help get it a higher priority if so. I'll see what I can do and try to get back to you with a response to if we can possibly get this in an upcoming build.

Hopefully the mean angle report will get you what you need in the meantime.

Regards,

Shane Lyons

hello shane, ian

I checked this morning the mean angle report :
- the calculated mean angle is in this report the azimut angle and not the raw horizontal angle
- the mean distance is the raw slope measure without prism constant

in my work what is needed is the mean angle on a reference station of severals measurment : normally to avoid shooting errors and to have better precision, we shoot face1 and face2 two times or 4 times, so we have for one horizontal angle 4 or 8 measures : we need then the mean of these raw angle to use in our network ajustment...

can this result (mean) can be seen on any export format ?

is there a place where i can find different export format ? from users may be ?

thank you

i can send a sample file in jxl but have to give me a mail contact ...

thanks for your help

Hey Pascal,

As far as the export from Access, you would need to have your dealer put in a support case and our support team could see if this is possible or put in a request to the Access team if not.

As this post was set up as a question, it's not possible to put an attachment. This is something I've requested from the company that manages this platform for future enhancement.

I don't see an email associated with your account. If you don't want to provide this you will just need to create a new thread, but as an open ended discussion, not a question and we can attach files this way. Sorry for the inconvenience, this is something I hope to have changed in the future.

If you do decide to create a new thread, please put @Shane Lyons so I'm made aware when its created.

At this time I don't think there is a custom export that includes the Mean angle, however if I can't figure out a way to get this exported, I'll have an enhancement request created as this should be an option in the custom settings.
