No Datum/No Projection - Grid or Ground?

Hi,
could someone explain me the difference between Grid and Ground when making a new project/job in Trimble Access with no datum/no projection and making site calibration.
When using published projection they are all set to Grid, which should be local (UTM) coordinates, but when I don't want to use published one, then Timble Access asks me what do I want to use.
I used Ground once just to check my already set site calibration in a project and the control on control points were good, but I am just not sure which one is what and what is correct.

Thanks

Grid - GNSS environment
Ground - Total station environment (scale 1)
Using UTM coordinates in a TS environment is problematic because of the scale factor (at least in Scandinavia)
