There seem to be a few threads, both recent and a bit older, with people describing issues when importing point clouds.
Currently running 5.9 and struggling to complete the import process of a 34GB cloud but it happens often and I cannot determine a pattern. After choseing the file to import and selecting the correct options (Georef, etc ec) it will get to 100% on the dialog and just hang. I have left it overnight and still found it at 100% in the morning.
This happens on 2 different machines, from network location and local drive, with e57 and las. The only thing that I can think of is there is some limit on file size? But if Trimble thinks 34Gb is too big in this day and age then I have a different set of questions for them..........

Just out of curiosity what are the specs of the computer you are using? Would like to try an import the data myself, not sure if you are willing to share it with me?

I do have the same problem. I wonder if there is any known solution. I need to import a las file of 10 GB and have been trying to do it for days. The Desktop is custom-built and top-of-the-line. I highly doubt that there is a problem with computer specs.
