All,
I am currently using TCC to sync between all my Siteworks devices and TBC. However, I hear that TCC will be going away at some point and we will need to use WM to perform this function in the future. My question is how does one do this with out totally messing up their current data on the cloud, devices and PC's? (isn't WM using TCC in the background) I was involved with WM early on in its development and when we tried connecting a TSC7 that was using TCC we had some pretty big issues with conflicts that affected everything clear back to the PC and the Trimble sync folder. I am not wanting to go through that again nor do I have the time. So I was wondering if Trimble will be providing a good video on how to do this without causing a hug amount of problems.
I would also like to add that I am currently using WM for all of my machine file transfers and have been since WM first came out. But instead of creating the designs from inside TBC I still copy a paste the files from a machine control data folder. You see as it stands now I can create one design and send to to both data collectors and machines ( I created a machine in TBC) if I choose. The thought behind this is that the grade checker should be running the same file as the machine operator and try to eliminate discrepancies plus why build the design twice. So with that in mind I would like to switch to all WM to eliminate this extra step but I am a little concerned about not being able to create the work orders in TBC to send to the filed guys through WM. With new and inexperienced surveyors this helps control the data they see and use. It seems like WM still doesn't have all the functions as TCC from inside of TBC just yet. I don't pretend to know it all and any advice would be greatly welcome. And if I am missing something please let me know.
Thanks, Ben
