Hi All,

Has any had this issue when trying to install TBC5.90? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm running Windows 11.

Thanks

Nathan

Confirm that you have Admin privileges on the computer. In doing a number of installs, I found that they often fail because most of our users don't have Admin rights on their company computer. The install process will start just fine but then tell you 20 minutes later that it can't continue because you don't have the proper rights. I do wish it would check for that first and let you know upfront so as to avoid the annoyance.

Hi Bob,

Yes I have full admin rights in this computer, I ran the cleanup utility and tried updating again. I did a quick search to find this file and it doesn't seem to be anywhere that I can find.

I have since reloaded TBC5.81 without any issues.

If I recall correctly,  Some had to unistall the current version and than install the new version.  There as been a few folks that have run into install issue.  I did and so did a coworker.  We had got an older version installed after a few attempts

I received the same message while installing 5.90. I'm running the installer on my machine as a test before deploying it to users. I'm an admin and ran the cleanup utility.  I made sure the win installer service was running and now receive this message:

Got this from support:

1.) Search Services in the Windows search bar and select the app.
2.) Scroll to Trimble.ExternalService.Daemon right click and select Start.

2. B.) In this screen you can also select the properties to see the file path of the .exe, navigate there and make sure it exist and the user has full permissions to the file and folder. Once you find the file and folder right click on it and go to Properties, and the Security. You should have Full Access.

Thanks Shae, I carried out 1 and 2 and also was able to find the file and make the directory and file with full rights.

Tried the offline installer and received the same message. While the message was displayed I went into the services apps and that app was no longer there nor was the .exe file in the directory.

I have tried Both the online and offline installers without luck.

I got the same, downloaded the offline install then copied it to my C: drive and it worked. Spent the last half of the day working, saved my file, now I get this trying to open it this morning:

I followed all the suggestions listed and still running into the same error. I went as far as removing 5.81, reinstalling, and pulling a fresh copy of 5.90 without success. Has anyone had any luck? Contacted support?

I'm having the same issues. Support sent the case to developement. The release of a 5.90.1 hot fix wouldn't surprise me.

Same.

Lots of trial an error with this approach but  finally got an install:

1.) Search Services in the Windows search bar and select the app.
2.) Scroll to Trimble.ExternalService.Daemon right click and select Start.

No such luck for me. It appears that service is not installed with the 5.90 package.

Does anyone have webroot?

Yes, we run Webroot. Apparently you can no longer disable it temporarily. It pops right back on.

I had to disable all options in Webroot, reboot machine, login as an admin, run the 5.90 installer. Webroot will still flag the Trimble.ExternalService.Daemon, select allow, and then retry the installer which should run through successfully.
