The defined views function seems to be buggy in the latest (and all prior) versions. Any ideas as to why this is happening? It does NOT happen when creating a defined view but later on randomly. It then blows out the project explorer so that you cannot see any items in the list. The only resolution that I see is to exit TBC and reopen. Then, even if you use a defined view once, it throws the error again. This needs to be addressed.
